MAKEUP VS. NATURAL BEAUTY

What do you think?

Personally, I have always loved makeup, from the age of 15 to 16. I started to wear more of it to school and sixth form. However, I have never been the best at applying it for full coverage. I have always been self-conscious and when I was younger I would get random acne outbursts making me feel even worse. I would try and cover up the spots with makeup, which isn’t always the best idea but it made me feel slightly better. One thing I’ve realised now I’m 21 and my skin has got much better than before, is we are all beautiful in our own way. I know you hear that line everywhere but it’s true.

I don’t disagree with beauty bloggers/vloggers for doing what they do but I feel like so many girls don’t realise their own true natural beauty. They look up to celebrities such as the Kardashians, who have huge amounts of money to appear the way they do. They are millionaires who can afford top of the market makeup artists and are able to do their makeup at any time of the day.

A good thing about them is that they do listen to you and you can find videos on exactly what suits you for the best look for you. You can receive good bargains, new brand names and cool, great tips on making you look and feel at the top.

However, I’ve noticed too many young girls focusing on their appearance more as the years go on, 14 year olds are looking 21 because of their makeup. They look up to and idolise the ‘makeup gods’ for helping them create the beauty on their face. But it is distressing how many young girls focus on their looks on social media for attention and fame within the beauty industry. Technology is rising and more a more beauty bloggers/vloggers are making a career in teaching and advising women on makeup techniques. It is enjoyable, fun and exciting experience for both the viewers and makeup artists; I’ll give them that. But, girls you still need to realise there’s more to a beautiful face, and you should still feel gorgeous with your natural look.

I too love makeup, but I also appreciate my natural beauty. As self-conscious as we can be, we all need to learn to love ourselves more.
