THE ENJOYMENT OF WHAT WE DO

Majority of the beauty bloggers/vloggers I spoke with adore their job, they love making young women feel beautiful. They like to inspire and transform them. Some girls do it as a hobby in their spare time around their work hours, however others live for it, it’s their job and they love it. Starting as makeup artists then building their own platform with blogs, channels, videos etc. Confidence is a huge factor within the beauty world, girls want to feel and look gorgeous, past experiences could have an effect on why they chose to go down this career path, for example, bad skin. The rise in blogging and vlogging has boosted up highly in the last few years, social media has become more popular and there are so many different ways for makeup artists to advertise and show off their artistic, inventive looks. Majority of celebrities love a little social media, glamorous celebrities may inspire them to get into beauty. This may include models, actresses, singers etc. The media has a huge influence in the beauty industry. For example, when you pick up a beauty magazine and you’re reading through the makeup sections and you see famous celebrities like the Kardashians advertising their daily makeup routines, it inspires beauty vloggers to create similar looks to illustrate to their audiences. Beauty bloggers have to network, they have to promote big makeup brands they love using, experiment new tricks and ideas on clients. The more passion you have about your job, the more positive everything becomes. When you want to buy a new make up brush, foundation, or mascara, you don’t always have time to go into different shops for feedback so you go online and that’s where they come in handy. Yes, some of them do get funded and also recieve huge fan bases, subscribers and viewers.

It’s free to watch them and they love to help other people. Women love to look and feel healthy, whether it’s their hair, skin or body they want to feel at their best. Beauty bloggers want to assist with that and enhance their beauty to help them become more confident within themselves.

Shaz, 25 says, “I can make someone feel so good, like at their best and it’s the nicest thing.” Additionally she adds,  “I love meeting new people, I love socializing and networking, it’s a huge part of my job”

Romi, 21 says “I started fashion at the age of 18 but makeup blogging when I was 20.” She always had a creative streak from her mother who was an artist. After she finished studying fashion and design at Bath Spa University, she developed creative skills and realised how good she was at applying makeup. “I became very involved in styling, trends, moods and the way people express themselves.”

Kristina, 21 has only got into the makeup industry with the company bareminerals for the last four months, she randomly applied for the job and now she loves it. “I love what the makeup brand represents and I love to help and teach other girls.” she says.
